European Strategy for Data and its Implementation in the German Health Data Legislation:
On February 19th, 2020 the European Commission published a Communication Paper on European Strategy for data, which consists of four key points. The Commission wants to:
- Establish a cross-sectoral governance framework for data access and use
- Invest in the infrastructures for hosting, processing and using data as well as fostering interoperability
- Empower individuals and ensure data literacy
- Use these structures to establish Common European data spaces, including a Common European health data space
How does the Commission plan to achieve these goals? How has the German Government performed so far in Health Data Legislation regarding these key points? What is there still to be done?
