New ways for digital health applications in the German health care system (DVG)

6. Jun. 2019

How can manufacturers of digital healthcare applications gain a competitive edge and create benefits for patients? We will navigate you:

In mid-June 2019, Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn presented his draft law for the "Digital Health Care Act (Digitale Versorgung Gesetz – DVG)". By German standards, it contains almost spectacular new regulations, as it provides, among other things, for insured persons to be entitled to digital health applications. These can soon be prescribed by doctors and should gain access to the primary healthcare market. In addition, health insurers will be able to participate in the development of digital health applications as venture capitalists and thus assume a stronger role as drivers and designers of innovative healthcare.

The Digital Health Care Act thus opens up fascinating new opportunities for stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
